BBQ and a game of Scattergories

Poor little Noah got sick with the stommach flu a couple of days ago. He also had a very high feever and was so tired and couldn't do anything. He woke up 3 times that night, heart was pounding and he was red from the high temperature. It was exhausting and nervwracking to take care for him. All you want is for little Tarzan to come back. He is feeling a little better today thank God!

The BBQ master Josefine entered and cooked up some deliscious stakes for us. We also hade some pineappele, muschroom and potato salad together with a glass of something refreshing ;) Fist BBQ this year got a little burnt but it tasted really good still.

Jenny, Milo and Kenzo are taking a nice bike tour together.

Since Noah and I are all moved out now we have moved in with Jenny, David and cousin Milo. That meens play, fun and advetures all day long for the boys. They take 2 long naps a day from getting all worn out playing so good together. We parents also have to take a couple of naps to be able to deal with the commotion going on with the to very wild and active boys. Noah took his first couple of steps the other day, 10 months and 9 days old. Way to go making his mommy proud!

I didn't expect to find my son in the drawer the other day, getting into all the lids, but there he was ;) Noah's new nickname is Tarzan! Don't you think it suits him? He also learned how to climb up on the coffee table, which he now loves to do. Hmmm, this little boy is already making his mom's hair turn gray ;).

Noah and I went to my friend Malin and her twinboys Elton and Levis baptism. It was a very cute cermony in the church and afterwards we went to her moms house for some cake, cookies and other refreshments. Yummo! Thank you Malin and Daniel for letting me and my wild little son be a part of your beautiful boys day. Noah was behaving so good all day for his mommy. He is a real social butterlfy that loves being around people and make them laugh. He was crawlig around every where getting into places he wasn't supposed to get into. But that's ok! What else is a mommy to a 10 month old boy supposed to do than running around chasing after him?

Noah latest invention is to climb into the kitchen cabinets. Don't worry though, thay are all empty now when he knows how to open them and through everything out.

Lately Noah and I have borrowed Jenny's bike and Milo's bike seat a couple of times. We both love it. Noah laughes out loud and wawes to everybody if I tell him to. I get a little exercise too. A good combo. FYI: I have reached a weight loss of more than 10% and 21 lbs (9,5 kg) and 7,1 in (18 cm) around my waist ;)

We both miss our Bart a lot and is counting down for the next time we will see him. We are flying on May 8th if the volcano on Island will let us.

Where is daddy?

Even though Noah still is very young I do belive he misses his favorite dad very much. When somebody knocks on the door he quickly crawls over to see if daddy is there to play with him, pick him up or just comfort him when he is sad. I talk to him about daddy and he looks over at our wedding photo on the wall and starts waving to his daddy, his number one. I put the phone to his ear and let him talk to Bart and he is looking into the phone and giggles. Yesterday I bought him a shirt that says "I love dad" on it, he looks so cute in it. I also tried to show him where dad is on the globe but he rather wanted to put it into his mouth. Hmmm...silly boy ;) But the truth is that we do miss you Bart, a lot as a matter of fact! We are so proud of you getting this good job at US Airways as a Sr. Analyst. Soon we are going to be together again because as you know we are, BETTER TOGETHER!

My wonderful husband Bart is leaving us for a while to go ahead with his career in America. We, Noah and I, are going to miss him like crazy. Bart and Noah have the best relationship you can imagine so it hurts me to have them seperate for a while. Noah and I are going to be fine though because we have eachother. But my little hubby, I love him so much. We are the beat of friends.

Weight lost: 8kg (18 lbs) YEEAH-HAA (way to go JOJO)

Miles ran: 6,5 km (4 miles) in one run (YEEAH-HAA) and I have my brand new running shoes Mizuno to thank for the great support and for giving me wings.

I feel so proud and ready for everyting life has to offer me. Bring it on ;)

Power-walk and spring time

Hello my little sweetheart and blue-eyed boy. Noah is finally feeling a little better after a few days of fever and crankyness. It's not fun at all to see your little kid sick refusing to eat or drink anything. But he is on the way to recovery which is a relief for all of us.

The tinfoil is very fun to play with, especially to roll it all out.

The latest creation in my kitchen; Super healthy and delicious Omega 3 bread. Packed with slow carbs and good nuts and fibres. Keeps you tummy happy for a long time. Strongly recomended!

This was me last year. This year we are very far from being able to suntan, but now finally spring is in the air ;)

It's nice to live close to the ocean and feel the nice ocean breeze

Bart decided to skip the gym and join me for a power-walk this sunday. I am supposed to have a day off working out on Sundays, but I just had to get out of the house. I am too restless now a days, have too much energy to burn. Or as I learned lately; the more energy you use, the more you build up. Ohh well, we got dressed, packed the kid down in the stroller and went for a walk.

Noah figured out how to climb up the coach by the way (goodbye last little bit of freedom). I bet he will start climbing the curtains and swing in the chandelier any day now. I didn't know I got a little monkey in Noah ;)

There is hope that spring will come to Sweden after all. This flowers that we call Snowdropps is a good and sure sign. Welcome spring. Let me just remind you of last year around this time, I was 32 weeks pregnant with Noah, sun tanning on the balcony in bikini and tanning lotion. The snow just melted like last week this year. Wiered weather!

Momma is ready to get some execise done. Noah got cozy in the stroller instead and fell asleep.

Bart, my little sweeatheart. Soon we have been married for 5 years. How lucky am I to be married to my best friend? We have a sure little sign of our love in our cutiepie Noah.

You would think that efter 1,5 hrs of power walk we would be tired, but no. We decided to clean out the shed while Noah continued to sleep on the balcony. It was a very good and fun little day together.

Are these two kiddos alike or what? We got this cool hat and matching shoes for our little Noah. We thought it was time for him to start looking like a real cool guy and also to have something cool and comfy to walk around in now when Noah is getting closer and closer to walking. Or let me correct myself, run! Because with Noah's speed crawling around both Bart and I think Noah is going to skip walking and start run right away ;)

This is how I found Noah one day. All the toilet paper is on the ground and Noah is happily chewing on the roll. Hmmm...

The trash can is also fun to explore and especially to empty it out all over the bathroom floor.

Our healthy life style continues. This is a typical dinner in the Mendonca residence lately: fresh salmon from the fish deli and a nice BIG sallad with lots of good stuff in. Doesn't it just look great? We think so. We are buying more and more organic products. It tastes so much better, it's better for the enviroment and it's better for our bodies. Everybody should just go organic. It's a good thing!

This is a typical evening snack: a couple or dark or white chocolates, fresh veggies and fruits (pineapple). It's so delicious and good for you. 100% guilt-free!

From the moment this little boy opens his big blue eyes he is ultra-energetic (read wild and happy) and runs around playing and exploring everyting he can get his fingers on. So whenever his little body has had enough it falls asleep right on the floor. This is Noah very tired taking a quick little nap. Cute!

Results so far: 6,2 kg lighter (13,5 lbs), 10 cm smaller in my waist (4 in) and a ton of more energy in my now active body. FYI today I ran my first 6 km (about 4 miles) in 38 minutes (Mike, I am comming to get ya!)Almost a religious moment for a mommy like me ;) But there's no stopping me quite yet, just keep on going for quiet a bit more. Beach 2010 better watch out!

Today the whole family Mendonca packed up the stroller and got dressed for a cold little walk together. Noah got to try the swing out for the first time. At first he wouldn't stop looking down into the ground, it was like he got a little sea sick. But in the end he lit up and gave us a couple of adorable smiles. Noah has 4 teeth comming in and he loves to show the off. He is so cute our Noah! Spring is here soon, the sun is shining and we just got a little bit more snow to go. I love spring!

Yesterday I finally met my one dearest friend Christel. She means so much to me and we always have so much to catch up to when we meet. We had luch at tha mall and Noah was so good the whole time. Afterwards we did some shopping. Very fun!

This is my dad as a young boy! I love and miss him a lot!

When I graduated from high school my father was still healthy and pratty energetic for his age. I have many good memories together with my dad. My mom is very happy here, smiling next to me. Good times!

One year ago my dear father past away. I miss him so much that it hurts. But I know that he is in a better place right now, watching over us. I read my diary the other day and I wrote that my father will keep on living in Noah, because a little bit of his blood is in Noah's body. That makes me happy thinking like this! My sisters and I went to his grave and lit a candle and put some flowers. We sang a song and it felt really good thinking about him.

and I just want to savor each moment with my adorable son. I never knew I could love somebody as much as a love Noah. When I feel sad he always makes me smile. He is growing up so fast and it makes me sad to think that he one day woun't need his mom as much as he needs me now. Like my mom say, you only borrow your kids for a little short time! That makes me just enjoy every moment so much more, make every moment count.

Back on track

Noah has discovered the cabbenets in the kitchen, how to open them and to emty them out. We keep putting the things back and he keeps putting it out again. Oh well, it keeps him satisfied and happy for a while atleast.

Just a cute one

Noah and I have been sick in the stomach flu this past week. I was good again after one day or so but poor little Noah was sick throwing up and having diarrhea for almost a week. He lost almost 1 kg (2 lbs) which is a lot for a 10 kg (22 lbs) baby. He is just skin and bone now. We went to the doctor because he was so sick and didn't eat or drink anything. The picture above is after they took a blood test in hs finger. He thought it was so wiered and funny having the band-aid on his finger. My sweet little Noah, thank God he is feeling better again.

Endorfins

I am sitting here right now, still high on the endorfins I got from working out earlier today. I am really starting to enjoy going to the gym lately, hit the treadmill and pump some iron. Today I made my first goal wich is to run 5 km (3,2 miles) under 30 minutes. I made it even faster than planned 29,5 minutes. Yeehaa for Josefine, I am so proud of myself. Somehow I lifted weights for a whole hour afterwards too (Bart and I got to go together today since my sisters were kind enough to babysit Noah for us). For some people you might think that 5 km is a piece of cake, but for me being barely able to run for 5 minutes 2 months ago, this is a major accomplishment! Weight-wise not much is happening right now, I guess it's because I am getting so buff ;). But I feel the energy flowing, a lot happier and I think I can blame it on the endorfins! The picture above is the skinny Jojo, watch out, I am soon that fierce again!

Update!

For Valentin's day Bart and I went to a spa. First we had a bath in a nice hut tub with lots of smelly oils and salt. We got some champagne and chocolate, nice realxing music was playing in the background and we just got to wind down before our treatment. Nice! After 45 minutes or so we got some OJ to cool down with and than we had about an hour of full body massages, including hand- and foot scrub and a face mask. How wounderful wasn't this? We have never treated ourselfs to something like this before, but now we are both hooked! It was nice of my sisters to take care of Noah for us so we were able to do this, especially now since Bart is going ti the US soon.

Our little helper Noah is gladly helping us out with the dishes. He is starting to climb as you can see and is walking so good with the walking waggon. He got his 3rd tooth a couple of days ago, now it's the top front tooth's turn to make it's debut. It's a joy everytime those little guys wants to come out! We celebrated Noah's 8 month day on the 15th! I can't belive he's already 8 months, Big boy!

I took a picture of our fruit bowl today. I just wanted you guys to see what it contains: Ginger, lemon, oranges and some bananas. I't for our morning drinks! Maybe a little unusual fruitbowl?

Noah likes the cheerios we let him try today! This is something all American kids are brought up on so we thought Noah had to try them.

Look how he concentrates grabbing the little circles. It kept him busy for a while so that we could eat dinner atleast ;)

This saturday we finally found out that they won the trip to the Spannish island of Mallorca woth 2.000 dollars. I am soooooo happy for them, they are definetly worth this trip. I knew it though, all the time. Her poem was the best. When they announced it, of course I balled my eyes out. Look how happy they are.

Noah 8 months check-up!

Today Noah went to his 8 month check-up and now he measures 75 cm (29,5 in) tall and wheighs 10,5 kg (23,5 lbs). Way to go Noah, our big boy! He is just a little sunshine our bundle of joy! Already 8 moths old! Everyday he is making us so happy with his smiles, looks and personality. Having said that, he is just a handful, crawling and being WILD from sun up untill sun down. He doesn't like to get dressed any more and usually 1 person has to hold him down while the other one changes him. Sometimes he is getting bored just sitting in your lap as well, spinning and turning just to be able to get away. He is stubborn, that's for sure; Josefine's and Bart's stubborness in one, OH MY! But he is so sweet, and makes you melt just by looking at him. He is cute in his new eco-friendly outfit from PO.P too, something that mommy couldn't resist eventhough it's kind of pricy ;)

FYI: I have now lost 4,9 kg (almost 11 lbs) in 3 weeks. Yes, you heard right, 3 weeks! That is my 5% mini goal already! I am really doing good in the gym and starting to feel like I am addicted to working out ;) Today I ran 4,5 km (3 miles) in 30 minutes and after that about 45 minutes of weight lifting. My jeans are already fitting alot better, but the biggest change is my self esteem and my energy level which is a lot higher. Way to go Jojo! Beach 2010, here I come!

Me and Jenny left the boys with their fathers and went to a couple flea markets. I have always liked to bargain shop and try to get my crib to look cute. I have started to love the style called shabby chic, so my goal now is to try to fix the chest that you see above into that style. I also found an ancient coffee grinder and milk can that are going to be used as flower pots. The silver platters you see I am going to turn into candle platters, maybe, we'll see how it goes. I couldn't resist the little tea set either, maybe Noah wants to play with them one day!

This friday we made a delicious pizzza, weight watchers style of course but with some extra goodies on thanks to the extra points I have earned by exercising this week (which has been 5 times FYI). To complete this friday menu we had something good to drink as well.

Lately, to keep Noah occupied while we make dinner, he plays with the kitchen utensils (of course) not the knifes. It's a good way for us to keep an eye on him but sometimes he crawls (read sneaks) up right next to us by the stove and climbs up agains it, very scarry especially if the stove is hot.

These little booties I made for Noah, and for being the first time I ever make anything like this I have to say I am kind of proud of myself!

Noah was sitting under the blanket with his mommy today and this is how our cute little boy turned out afterwards. His hair is all static and Noah thought that it was so funny under there. I laughed my guts out!

Finally one minute left over for blogging

I started weightwatchers and have been going to the gym now for 1,5 months and it feels really good! I lost 3,3kg (7 lbs) in 2 weeks and I am so proud of my self. This is usually how I start my day; a smoothie, a cup of herb tea (organic of course), a morning drink made with fresh squeezed lemon and oranges, fresh ginger, OJ and flaxseedoil (linfrö olja), my daily vitamins and my omega 3. Talk about healthy, huh?. Then I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week and I already feel a lot stronger and energetic. I take classes like step, spinning, or afrodance or just the gym where I now run about 4 km (3 miles) on the tread-mill. My body is thanking me everyday for doing this for my self. My body is my temple!

Noah thinks it's a lot more fun to stand up in the high chair and mommy is just striking a pose in her new hair due. I got tired of always streaking it blond so I decided to go brown.

It was scarry to find him like this after I just turned my back away for one second. He thinks it's really fun though!

Bart is also doing good with the weightloss and exercise. I am telling him that he doesn't need to loose anymore, but stubburn as he is he doesn't listen to me. But it's good that I have him to push me in the right direction and not give up.

Noah is a very happy and curious boy. He is getting even more mobile and is now walking really good along all of our furnitures. He got the balance down and doesn't hurt him self as often. He waves to you, he knows where the light is if you ask him, he started to clapp his hands too and when we are playing music and dance he starts to dance or more wiggle his body to the music. It's so fun to see what he is up to every day.

A visit to see Elton and Levi

Finally I got to see my friend Malin's twin boys Elton and Levi. They are already 2 months old so it was definetely time. They are so cute and so tiny and Malin is a very good mother. It was fun to finally see the little guys that hid in her tummy. Malin is proudly holding her little Levi on this picture. I got to hole the little guys too, they were light as feathers but so darn cute.

Noah was a little bit bigger than these little guys. Malin was in a little chocked to see him since he grew so much since last time she saw him.

Noah just love his cousin Milo. They are playing so good, grabbing for eachothers toys and standing up on the same things. They play so good. Sometimes very curious about one anothers faces, grabbing it sometimes a little too hard.

Noah eats with his whole face. Aslong as he eats anything mommy is happy. After not being sick anymore he is really starting to eat us out of house and home.
To be able to crawl, Noah discovered that he can put the toys in his mouth. Smart little guy!

Remember that we had to build a getto wall of chairs to keep Noah where we could see him. Noah already found a little loophole. Now, what to do?

Noah leard to wave today, how cute is he on a scale? Off course mom and dad are very proud. We havn't showed him that many times, he just figured it out himself. Now it's all he does, when he is happy, when he is a little fussy, when he is eating or even falling asleep. He is so dang cute!

Life goes on over here. Even though my heart is aching my mind is getting more and more at ease. It makes more sense as the days goes by to stick with our decision. Noah is happy and is making his mommy happy. We are looking forward to brighter days. Life goes on!

There's nothing mean about this little girl. I miss her so much that I can't explain. If you have never had a special realtionship with the man's best friend you will probably not understand what I am talking about. All I am thinking about is if I made the right decision? I don't know if I can live with the knowledge of somebodyelse raising my little girl. I don't know if I can live without her! I wish some little angel can just whisper he right answer to me.

Daisy will always be ours...

...but sadly we decided to let her go somewhere that was better for our little girl. Ever since Noah came to us Daisy has been a little left out and as a result has become more and more mischevious. She also didn't get the exercise and the stimulation she so needed. It would have been more selfish to keep her thinking that we might move over seas on day. With a broken heart we decided to put a little note up on the Hunters association webpage and after a few days a man called Alf answerd. He and his wife Gunda came to see Daisy and immediatley fell in love with her. We thought long and hard, and prayed to God, and made this very difficult decision. Our little friend Daisy would have it so good with them.

Here's me, Noah and Daisy chillin in the bed on of the last mornings. If you only knew how hard this is for me, I cry right now as I am writing this! Daisy has been our dog for almost 3 years and we have made her to what she is. She is a wild dog with lots of energy, but she is always the happiest little dog with the biggest heart that could never hurt anybody. One week before Alf contacted me about her, I prayed a little prayer to God because I didn't know what to do. I can seriously tell that Daisys new owners are people that are send to me by angels. Friendly people like them you will rarely run into.

Noah said his goodbyes too, in his little special way. They just recently started to get to know eachother.

My little girl in my arms the last night. If you knew how lovable she is. All she wants to do is to cuddle and roll up to a little pretzel under the blanket in the bed. Ohh I miss her so much right now.

Bart said goodbye too. I even think he will miss that wild dog!

Alf and Daisy are playing tug-of-war. A nicer man that this 71 one year old hunter with a heart of gold is hard to find. The first time he saw Daisy he immediately lifted her up in his lap and whispered in her ears: Are you going to be my little girl? It was love at first sight.

When we got there they had a very nice dinner prepared for us. This was the appetizer.

Daisy got comfortable right away and tried all the lazyboys out, one by one. They gave her treats and bones and told us that Gunda just started knitting a little shirt for her to where this cold winter. How much love and attention is Daisy going to get? She is going to be there little child I think!

When I look into her eyes I am wondering if she now is thinking why we left her. Maybe she is just waiting for the day we will come to get her back? Will she ever understand why? If she only knew that we did this because we love her too much and that we just want the best for her.

Alf and Gunda live right in the forest and has about 150 meters (160 yards or so) to the ocean. That day it was very windy and the waves where very high, as you can see here. Alf brought the binoculars (kikaren) and we got to see the beautiful scenery. We went for a walk in the neighbourhood. Daisy had lots of fun in the snow and was happy as always.

I got to borrow Gundas fur hat. Not very cool looking, but very warm and cozy.

The street they live on is called Solskensvagen (the sunshine road). To me that symbolises happyness, friendlyness and love, something that I know Daisy is always going to be surrounded with.

Now it has been 32 hours since we left her. When it was time to leave we put our coats on and Daisy was standing there ready by the door. Now it just hit me, this feeling of now the time is here. My eyes started to water up and my heart started to ache. Gunda picked her up so that she wouldn't run after us and I gave Daisy a hug and a kiss. Alf came with us out to the car and asked if it was hard to leave her . I looked at him and started to ball my eyes out. He gave me the biggest hug and said to think of it as them just taking care of her for us for a month (the time we decided to try it out). He promised to give me a call at least once a day so that both Daisy and I could be calm. We sat down in the car, backed up and waved goodbye. I cried and I cried and I am still crying. Will I ever stop crying? Did we give up too easy? We will go there in a month and see her again.

...baby fat goodbye! And I know exactly how that is going to happen, I am going to chase Noah around the whole house and the fat will just melt off.

Bart and I made a little getto baby barrier to try to get som rest for a while. But just look at Noah standing up against it trying to get passed.

It's the funniest thing Noah knows now a days, to stand up against everything he can. The couch is good, nice and cusiony. Just look at his litle grin, so proud of himself.

The shoe shelf is a very fun toy according to our son and to chew and lick all our shose is so good. Kind of yucky if you ask me.

But seriously, Bart and I have started a little competition at home called the Biggest Looser. Once a week we have a wheigh-in and who ever looses the most gets 50 bucks. So far Bart won the fist week, but I won the second. We have both lost 1,5 % of our body wheight (hint that this has happed during the holidays which is a tempting ordeal in it self). And we have signed up for the gym too so now the game is on, may the strongest person win! We will keep you posted on our progress here on the blogg!

New years with family and friends

Here's David with the dessert over at the Winther family residence. We had a 3 course dinner which was very delicious. Bart and I made toast Skagen for a starter, then the Winther family made pork tender loin with sauce and scallped potatoes and sallad, and Jenny and David made chocolte cake for dessert. After the sterdy dinner we had some room saved for snacks and homemade fudge. At midnight we all got out to look at the fireworks and welcomed the new year. We palyed some games and at 1 am or so we all had enough, packed up the kids and went home.

Earlier that day we headed over to Caroline to celebrate her 24 th birtday. Here's Bart playing the drums in Rock Band. He think he looks so cool!

Milo and Noah are having so much fun with the wrapping paper and the bows. They seem to always want to have what the other one is palying with. They are so cute and are really starting to have very fun together.

Here's my mommy and I. I really love my mom and are looking up to her in so many ways. She is a super strong woman and always have the best of advices for me if I am in trouble.

Ida had to help out our neighbours standing in as a santa lady since their hired sata cancelled on them in the last second. Ida was a little nervous at first but came back 15 minutes later 20 dollars richer. She told the kids that santa was sick with H1N1! Hahahaha, she is so funny!

Look who's standing up on the music table. He's very strong and gets up like that all by him self. My mom says all the time that she thinks Noah is going to walk when he is 9 months. Only time will tell. As it looks now I think she will be right because Noah moves non stopp.

I was doing the dishes and look who came and joined me! He is so cute and his teeth are really poking up right now. With all the crawling he's doing he starts to look like a real boy with bruces in his knees an knockles and little cuts here and there. He's very patient and plays around with all his toys for a long time before he gets bored and wants some mommy attention.

Noah is a real joy being around. We love our little wild boy!

Noah's 6 Months

Now it has been 6 months since Noah came to us. Where did the time go? It feels like yesterday but still like 10 years. What did I do before Noah chose to come down and be our son? I am so happy and thankful that he chose me to be his mom forever. So many things have happened since he came. Now he crawls to you and smiles as soon as he sees us in the morning. On his six months birthday he even got his first two little teeth poking up. Talk about beeing a proud mom and dad. Noah now weighs 9,6 kg (21 lbs and 2 ozs) and he is 74 cm (29 in) tall. Big Boy in other words!

Here's Noah climbing up on his music table. When I found him he was standing up on his feet. Talk about that I got shocked when I saw my 6 month old son stand up. I yelled out loud: Noah, what are you doing? He got a little surprised and looked at me like: What are you yelling about?

He moves aroud a lot right now. It's not quite crawling. It's more like army-crawl sort of. He stands up on all fours and takes a few steps, rocks back and forth like a maniac, but than he falls to the ground and continues creeping forward. Last night I found him under the table sitting up, muching on a dust bunny (no no, that was a joke!) But he is really good sitting up after crawling. It's just that he falls a lot, screaming and crying with big tears, now when he's so active and mobile. He is definately starting to become a real wild boy!

Cords and remotes are the funnest toys around! Already interested in technical stuff just like daddy!

Crawling and crawling is all our little boy wants to do lately. Or stand on all fore and rock back and forth at least. Yesterday when I put Noah down on the floor on his tummy to play while I went to the bathroom real quick, I found him sitting up when I got back. At lot of things have really started to happen with Noah. I guess I will be a busy mom really soon. But it's all just fun to see him develop and learn so much everyday.

Finally Bart has his degree after many years of hard work. I am so proud of my husband. Now we are just waiting for a good job to popp up! Way to go Bart!!

We celebrated Bart with a surprise party at Peter Piper Pizza the. After some pizza it was time to play some games.

We learned the hard way that Noah now is quick and has loooooong arms, because when the pizzas came out and where put on the table, Noah grabbed into them before Bart had time to move'em. He quickly put the hot tomato sauce in his mouth and than realised that it was freaking hot. He screamed bluddy murder. Poor little guy, it hurts a mom's heart to hear your little soldier cry like that. He got so tired afterwards and fell a sleep with all the commotion going on around him.

We were sitting next to the gorillas, and every 5 minutes they were making a lot of noises. Noah was very amazed. Where is Bart?

The waitress greated us and gave Noah his crayons and paper to draw on. She also showed us where the kids menu was. How old did she think Noah was? Oh well, Noah mostly chewed on the paper and had a bottle of milk for lunch!

After going down to Tucson for the final interwiev for my green card, wich finally got approved by the way, we headed over to the mall and a lunch at a fun café. After some good food we were readdy for some serious shopping!

Bart, JJ, Amy and I took the kids to Olive Garden for some lunch the other day. It was yummo! Noah sat in the high chair and had some of his puffs. One time I had him in my lap for a little bit and ha grabbed the garlic bread I had in my hand. I just had to give him some small pieces to keep him satisfied. After the luch Bart and I continued with some shopping. We stopped by Ross and the mall and found some christmas presents for all the kids.

Last night I felt like taking Noah for a dip in the pool. I thought it was a good time for that since it was a little over cast and no direct sun light. The sun was actually setting and made the sky really pretty and pink. Noah just loved the water and splashed around like a crazy little boy.

Potatoes and carrots in the ice tray, convenient and cheap!

Now when Noah entered the 4 months of age (soon 5), a lot of things have happened with our boy. He rolls around in every direction, especially when you change his diaper. If you are not carful poop can end up every where. If he is sitting in your lap when you eat he grabbs for everything and follow every bite you take. If you are not quick enough he grabbs for your plate trying to get a bite off of it. Just to keep him occupied we bought some veggie puffs (majkrok) and he loves them. He gets one and sucks on it for a while untill it gets all mushy and swollows them. When you try to give him another one he just opens his mouth and starts chewing for it. Today I made some mashed potatoes and carrots just because I think Noah i definetly ready for more challenging food to keep him satisfied. I am glad I have a good eater that is growing!

Jack-o-lantern

Bart and I carved a pumpkin yesterday. Bart took care of he inside grose stuff and I got to carve the face, the fun part. Caroline and I used to fight over who was gonna carve and we always used to help eachother. I did one eye and she did the other one. This year I got to do it all by my self. Fun, but I do miss you Caroline!

Noah now flipps around every way possible. This morning when Bart was changing his diaper he flipped over from his back to his stomach and a little later the other way around. Good boy! Mommy and daddy soooo proud of our little boy.

A couple of days ago Bart's dad Mike and Beth took us out to an Italien restaurant to celebrate Bart's b-day. The food was so good. Bart had the calzone and I had the creamy chicken marsala. Beth's daughter Sarah Beth aslo joined us. We all had a really nice time. Thank you so much you guys, we really appreciate it.

Granpa Rich and Gloria came down from California to see the latest addtion to the Mendonca family. Noah is happy exploring granpa's face and Caden is happily posing for the camera. Thay gave us this very nice baby quilt that Gloria sewed and Granpa quilted. If you look closely it says Noah and it has Noah's arch on it. Thank you guys for this keeper.

Have you seen a happier boy? After sleeping for about 12 hours, except for waking up to eat a couple of times, who wouldn't be this happy?

Cindy and I went for a pedicure yesterday. Bart and Matt stayed home with tha boys. It was nice to get pampered for a little bit. I got a really fancy treatment with massage with hot stones. Mommy likes.

In the evening we went to Mike, Bart's dad, and his wife Beth's house for a BBQ. We had hamburgers and played some games. Noah was tired and took a little nap the whole time we were there. He is still jet lagged of course but is doing better than we could have ever thought.

Like I was expecting our cute little son is charming the pants off of everybody. In the morning the Owens's family came over, all the kids couldn't wait to see Noah. It was fun to se them again, they all grew so much since last time we saw them.

Jolene's house

Here's some other houses in her neighborhood, some cactuses and the Superstition Springs mountains in the background. It's hot over here, 40 degrees celcius or 100 degrees Farenheit. I love it but everybody over here is tired of the heat and can't wait for fall to come. I really appreciate the sun and the blue skies a lot and I try to suck it all in. The sun and the heat makes you a lot happier and energetic. Me like!

A lot of thing have happened with Noah the last couple of days. Before we left he got into crawling position for a litte while. I mean he stood up on all fours kind of, and I got really shocked. The first night in AZ I found him on his back in the bed he sleeps in(usually he sleep on his tummy) so aparently he flipped over. I thought it was only a coinsidendce. But later when I put him on his tummy for some exercise in the morning he just did ít in front of me. I got all shocked and yelled for Bart to come and see. A historic day for Noah the 17th of october was the first time he rolled around. Mom and dad sooo proud! Where is this going to end up with a boy who almost crawls already at 4 months of age? I guess I am going to be a busy mom soon!

The day before we went over to America we had the whole family over for a little goodbye party. We had tacos and were all just hanging out together. I have mixed emotions about leaving, it's fun to come over here to America and have eveybody over here get to see our boy but it's sad to leave the family over in Sweden now when Noah is here. He is going to be so big next time they will see him. Jenny and I cried a bunch, we always hang out and have so much fun together with our little boys.

Noah was such a good boy the whole trip. We brought our stroller with us, but the sad part is that we had to check it in Copenhagen already. I thought we could use it all the way to the gate and then again on our lay over in London, but we couldn't. Good that we brought the Baby Björn.

I was nervous about Noah's ears hurting so I made sure he was eating during take off and landing. It didn't seem to bother him at all. He was crying for a little bit just in the beginning of the flight and I was nervous about everybody on the plane getting upset at us. But after just a little bit Noah fell a sleep and slept in a little carrier we got for him. He slept for about 5 hours on the long flight, off and on, sometimes in the carrier and sometimes in our laps. Thank God we had a smooth ride with no turbulence at all and my cute little Noah was such a good boy. My sweet little boy makes me so proud.

Today my mom's dog Enya had seven puppies. One sadly died, but six of them are strong and alert cute little rascals.

Today went to the mall to meet my cousin Therese, Tina and her husband Carsten. Their kids Sarah, Jacob and Louise with boyfriend David also came. It's nce to meet them since they live in Denmark and we don't see them taht often. Thak you guys for the nice time we had together today.

This Saturday Jenny and I went to my sister Caroline's appartment for a girls night. Caroline also had her three friends over and we ate tacos and were just enjoying each others company. We left the boys with their fathers wich always is a little nervracking, but both the boys where doing excellent. It was nice to hang out with my lovely sisters and to be able to charge the mommy batteries.

...wich is kind of nice sometimes. Noah offcourse is growing and learning new thing every day, but we are just staying home and chilling. Both me and Bart just caught a cold so it's nice to just do nothing for a change. We are counting down for our America trip and have started to prepare for that right now. We are so excited to see everybody over there and are looking fforward for both Halloween and Thanksgiving over there with the family. I hope everything is going to be good with Noah and that he woun't have ear akes om the flight. I also wonder how he will be with the time diffrence and all. I bet it will all be ok.

He is also enjoying some more of the solid food we are slowly introducing. Daddy gives him a little bab oat-meal. Mmmmm, yummo!

Noah got a oncie and a puppy from my classmate Ylva from nursing school. From Malin he got this Winnie the pooh bed cover and pillow case. Thank you guys.

Couples evening

My good little Noah feels like a very happy and content boy. He falls asleep at 8 PM every night sharp. He wants to have a little snack between 4-6 AM. After that he falls asleep in his bed again and is ready to wake up between 8-9 AM. Nowadays he takes a nap mid day for 2-4 hours. It's nice for all of us to have steaddy routines. Noah likes to watch TV lately, here he's in his bouncer watching Telle Tubbies. That can keep him happy for 30 min or so. Than he wants to move on with his day.

Here's Noah's new thing that goes in his stroller. It's already really cold over here so it feels good to be prepared for the winther.

The other day we had the Winther family and the Wiik- Börjestål family over for JJ's enchilladas and Bart's Cowpies. Helenas's husband Robert made the dessert, a marange cake. He kind of messed up and I had to come and help him a little, as you can see from the pics. We had lots of fun and I hope we all can do it again soon!

Fall is here

Today I met up with all my mommy friends and their babies and we were talking babies and drinking coffee like always when we get together. Lots of fun as usual. Jenny and Milo were also there. It has been a sunny but very cold and windy day today and you can definetly say that fall is here. Noah just had his bath and fell alseep all by himself in his gribb. He is a really good boy with doing that lately. But I guess it's not hard to fall a sleep if you are really tired. Bart went to the store and bought some peanut butter and made some cowpies. Yummy! He surprised me with a fall bouquet of flowers and of course I had to cry a couple of tears. It feels like life is treating us good lately. It's important to treasure every day and be thankful for the small things in life. It's those every days that are life, so don't waste any. Start live today!

Daisy got a new bed

Daisy is enjoying her new bed we got her. We were tired of her sleeping in the bed with us taking up the whole space. She was also allowed in the coach before, but not anymore. It wasn't as hard as we thought to get her to use this dog bed we borrowed from Kenzo, Jenny and David's dog. Today we got Daisy her own bed and she absolutly loves it. So does Gus the cat. Too bad the he is sick and only has months to live. He loves to cuddle up next to Daisy asn you can see.

Baptism for the Boys

Milo and Noah are now baptised. It was a day filld with lots of fun and even some tears of joy. Thanks to everybody for making the boys special day so memorable. We all love and appreciate each single one of you!

Yesterday my sisters and I went to the grocery store to get the last few things for the baptism that's on Saturday. Afterwards we decided to grab a hot dog and a soda in the cafeteria by the store. First a man that sat next to me asked if Noah was half Swede for some reason. Than when I was drinking my Pepsi, Noah grabed a hold of it and was about to put it in his mouth. Is it that obvious that my son is half American? He obviously has the American glow to him self and he already is crazy for soda :)

Noah sits like a big boy in the coach next to the best dad in the world. When he sits like this I call him my Budda-baby because of the fat belly.

My sweetest Noah, I love you so much. I want to teach you all I can and I want to love you so much that you will never leave you moms arms. You are the light of my life and I wounder how it's possible for a little boy like you to be filled with so much love. When I see you in your cribb in the mornings and you greet me with the biggest smile on your face I am still thinking: How did I get so lucky? 3 months have now passed and and I am so proud and happy to be Noah's mom.

Yesterday Patrik and Caroline came over to our place to hang out with us for a while. We went to pick up Jenny and Milo and we all took a walk down to the ocean. It was a hot day and we were all walking up a sweat. Noah is now sitting in his big boy stroller and likes it a lot. He want to be able to look around now. When he's tired you can lay it all flat so he can sleep. It's nice to be albe to live so close to the ocean, it's a shame though that you don't walk down there more often.

The uncle is home this weekened and was enjoying the boys too.

When we came back from our 2 hour long walk we all hung out a Jenny's place. A little later my mom and Ida also came to make us company. Here's Noah in Milo's swing, actually able to bounce around a little this time. I think he enjoys it more now. Stinkin' cute is he anyway!

It's funny now when the cousins have started to interact more with eachother. Noah sometimes laughs out loud when he sees Milo. So adorable!

Aunt Caroline has a real good hand with the boys. She always makes them laugh. Here she is with Milo who has had a little cold the last couple of days. I hope he is getting good soon!

Bart is known for his famous cookies and has turned me into a real cookie monster with his chocolate chip cookies and cowpies that he makes every other day. I guess it's a little sweet way for him to feel like home. We are going to the states in 4 weeks from now and I can really see the joy in my husbands eyes. Bart used his magic and finally it works again. I'm sorry to all my loyal fans out there who have wated an awful long time, but here comes a little update. Remember I lost my phone (see previous post), here's some pics from the moments before it happened. Uncle Patrik was down for the weekened (now he spends his days up in Stockholm and in officer's school, me soooo proud!) Noah is trying his new outfit on, a little hoody!
