Mommy/ pregnancy date

Last Tuesday I went to see the mommies and the pregnant girls Jenny and I have been seeing during our pregnancies. I think we where about 10 moms, 2 pregnant girls and including their babies about 15 kids. Full house by the way! We ate pizza rolls, cookies and a ton of other good food. We met at my coworker Helena’s house and ít was a lot of baby-talk going on. All together a very fun afternoon. Now we are exctingly waiting for the two pregnant girls to have their babies and than we have all popped

Babies smell so good!

What is it that makes babies smell so good? After I am done breast feeding and after a good old burp, I just love sitting with Noah sleeping on my shoulder, sniffing on him for hours. He just smells devine.
What is it that makes babies feel so soft? I just love holding my son in my arms touching his soft skin, especially his cute little feet. They are so soft. I bet Noah has been laying like this in the belly, since he lays like this all the time now.
I love looking at him when he sleeps, sometimes smiling and making cute little noises. Is it the angel standing next to him guarding him that he smiles to? I think so. I love singing lullabies trying to get him to sleep. I am just so happy beeing the mother of Noah. Mom is the best title I have ever earned.

Noah – a true Gemini

My sister Jenny read something really interesting to me about Gemini’s today. A Gemini is like popcorn in hot oil, they are always ready to go, bouncing around full of energy. Noah is a true Gemini. I have seen more of his eyes than I have seen of his eyelids in these three weeks that he has been around us. This little boy of ours is so awake and active for being only three weeks old. Every time you look at him he has his big blue eyes wide open, like ping pong balls. Pretty much all newborn babies do is eat and sleep, all except Noah. Yes, he eats a lot but he is usually awake for a few hours at a time. I guess since he is born 11 days late he just doesn’t want to miss out on anything more. But Bart and I got a little concerned since you hear about other kids and how much they sleep, so we had to ask the nurse when we went there for a check-up the other day: Doesn’t he need to sleep more? She said that all kids are different and that he is totally normal. It’s just that active kids like this will likely have more tired parents. Bart and I looked at each other in agreement because Noah also likes to be entertained while he is awake and to be carried around everywhere you go. He just doesn’t lay there happily looking up in the ceiling. But he is entertaining his parent a lot though, already focusing his eyes when you talk to him, doing a lot of baby-talk and smiling at least once a day. And it’s not just a reflex, like most would think; it’s a real smile and sometimes a little chuckle too. It’s so fun and so cute. You just get so happy looking at him, my sweet little son. I am going to try to capture him on a photo smiling so you can see for your self.
Noah is growing so much, now weighing 5210 grams or 11 lbs and 7 oz. He is getting tall too, he's 58 cm or 23 inches. Wow, he’s huge already. Huge for being little, if you know what I mean.

Noah Dislikes Malls

Yesterday Noah and I met Caroline, Margit, Jenny and her baby Milo at the mall. I desperately needed to find a couple of new outfits since I am tired of still wearing maternity clothes and walking around looking like a bum. We thought that it was ok to go to the mall since it was Monday and it wouldn’t be that busy. But boy were we wrong! It was more crowded than ever, probably because its summer and people are off work and school. I thought I was going to get an ulcer before I got out of there. Noah felt the stress that I was feeling and was probably already stressed out from all the commotion around him. He couldn’t relax and sleep at all when we were over there. I had to feed him four times in about four hours, which even for him is excessive. I managed to do some super quick shopping and eat a super quick lunch. It was fun hanging out with my sisters as usual, but I don’t recommend anybody to go to a busy mall with a small baby 'cause there was nothing pleasant about it. Half way home Noah started crying in the car and it’s not easy hearing your little baby cry hysterically when you are driving and there’s nothing you can do. When I finally got home, after what felt like an eternity, I looked at my little boy with big tears flowing down his cheeks and almost loosing his voice. That just made my heart break right then and there. I felt like a horrible mom. But our ordeal was not yet over. Noah was so tired and wide awake for all that evening and me and Bart tried to make him fall a sleep for a few hours. He finally gave in and around midnight he fell asleep. I promised myself that night not to go to the mall for at least another month. It’s not worth it. When I talked to Jenny the following morning she told me Milo was fussy and cried for a few hours that night as well. It was too much for our little boys to handle.

Poor Daisy Dukes

So yesterday Daisy had her surgery. When we came to pick her up I heard her cries as soon as I opened the door to the vet. Apparently her bump was so infected that they couldn’t get to it without draining all the puss and guck out first. When they went to get her, after us paying the hefty bill, she had a drain sticking out of her jaw and a big old collar around her neck. She was still wagging her tail even though she was in so much pain. She didn’t want to walk because she kept bumping into things with that collar blocking her sight. Bart had to carry her up the stairs. That poor little thing! She kept crying all day. When it was time to sleep we had her on a cushion on the floor next to the bed, but she kept whining so loud that she almost woke Noah up. Bart had to move her out to the living room, but she wined even louder. Bart then moved her to the bathroom, but we could still hear her heartbreaking cries. The only thing left to do was to try to put her on the bed by our feet, where she usually sleeps. She fell asleep right away. She just wanted to be close to us, if we only knew. She now has to take strong painkillers and antibiotics for about 10 days. She already feels a lot better today! Let’s hope that this is the last of her ordeals.

Exercise with dad and more fun

Noah is 3 weeks on Monday! Times flying when you are having fun. We are having so much fun that we haven’t had time to update the blog for a couple of days. We have been having a few rough nights lately cause Noah has been having gas-problems. The poor little boy is struggling to get the farts out. He gets all red in his face like he is trying to push a super-poop out. But he’s lucky just getting a couple of farts. We have tried to help him out with some tummy-drops and we are already seeing some good results. Mommy made a few changes to her diet to help him out as well. No more strawberries and milk. We’ll see if that has any effect! It’s a little bit of experimenting, but it’s all worth it trying to help your little helpless boy out.
Poor little Daisy has a huge bump on her jaw and is having a surgery on Monday. The bump needs to be analyzed and hopefully it’s nothing serious. Cause even tough she’s little ADHD she’s a sweet little dog with good intentions.
We had a couple of BBQs with some delicious food, just hanging out with family and friends and enjoying the heat and the sun. Cause it is hut here in Sweden right now. But the thing is that we don’t have any AC in this country so it becomes unbearable. At night we just have all the windows open trying to make it trough alive.
Today me and Noah are going to Smörhålan to hang out with the family and maybe going to the beach. I have to wait to swim for another couple of weeks until I am healed all the way so I and Noah might just have to chill under the umbrella. But that’s sweet enough! Bart is staying home doing his homework. He has to classes at a time now so that means he is busy. But he is doing a lot of progress with his weight loss, 22 lbs or 10 Kg so far. Good job Bart!

Somebody just loves the car-rides

Peek-a-boo! Here's Noah just waking up in his car seat. He just loves the car-rides and the noisier it is, the better he sleeps.
