Poor Daisy Dukes

So yesterday Daisy had her surgery. When we came to pick her up I heard her cries as soon as I opened the door to the vet. Apparently her bump was so infected that they couldn’t get to it without draining all the puss and guck out first. When they went to get her, after us paying the hefty bill, she had a drain sticking out of her jaw and a big old collar around her neck. She was still wagging her tail even though she was in so much pain. She didn’t want to walk because she kept bumping into things with that collar blocking her sight. Bart had to carry her up the stairs. That poor little thing! She kept crying all day. When it was time to sleep we had her on a cushion on the floor next to the bed, but she kept whining so loud that she almost woke Noah up. Bart had to move her out to the living room, but she wined even louder. Bart then moved her to the bathroom, but we could still hear her heartbreaking cries. The only thing left to do was to try to put her on the bed by our feet, where she usually sleeps. She fell asleep right away. She just wanted to be close to us, if we only knew. She now has to take strong painkillers and antibiotics for about 10 days. She already feels a lot better today! Let’s hope that this is the last of her ordeals.
